PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
TO ALL MEMBERS
Some how we made it. The NEW MILINUIM Dawned on January 1, 2000 with forecasts of worldwide crisis and possibly the end of the planet. But here we are, …somehow we made it. I would like to believe it was because "I" was elected Tri-Counties West Board of Realtors President. Sadly however, I can not take all the credit myself.
As 1999 ended, and the New Year loomed menacingly ahead, I was blessed with the good fortune of having some very talented and wonderful volunteers offer their help in serving on various board committees. The best thing about talented volunteers is that they make "me" look good.
From Community Service and Education, to MLS software and Internet technology, many have devoted hours to insure we are strongly positioned for competing in the new millennium. As we re-defined ourselves and the direction our board is heading, it became clear to us that we must also re-name ourselves. We needed a name that is as broad as our vision for the future of our organization. Soon that name will be announced.
When I was approached about assuming the responsibilities of Board President, I was reluctant; it was not a job I was seeking. But, I must say, that this has been a tremendously gratifying experience for me. Due to the serious dedication of the many people who have spent hours doing the research, and implementation of our many projects, significant progress has been made. We will all be the beneficiaries of their hard work.
Despite my misgivings, I made it through this year. I am proud of the team I have worked with, proud of all they have accomplished, and proud to pass the gavel on to our President Elect, John Sammon. Thank you all, for allowing me to serve you. The future truly looks bright!
Respectfully,
Laura Johnson
President.
