GEORGIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS INAUGURAL CONVENTION
JANUARY 8 - 11, 2003
THE CLOISTER, SEA ISLAND, GA

If you have never attended a GAR Convention, you are really missing out! The education sessions, meetings and networking opportunities are unbeatable. GAR goes to great lengths to provide many opportunities for members including welcome reception, parties, bingo, tennis, golf and many fun activities. If you missed the January convention, you won't want to miss the September convention in Destin, FL.

In January the convention was held at The Cloister at beautiful Sea Island, GA. While there, we took several photos of this old and classic Five Diamond hotel resort so that you might make time to visit before some of the old buildings are torn down.

Since its opening in 1928 as a temporary facility, a tremendous legacy of gracious hospitality and excellence has grown here. After 75 successful years, the owners will be tearing down the main building and the River House in December 2003 and will begin construction on a new facility. It was heartbreaking news to many members who have visited The Cloister over the years, as the ambiance, classic southern traditions and charm will be difficult to recreate. GAR has booked us back at the Cloister in January 2008.

Although it will remain open through construction of the new facility, if you have never been to The Cloister, you will want to visit before this lovely facility is torn down.

Please take a moment to peruse some of the photos taken of the main building during the GAR convention in January.
